Berlin (Germany), January 2022. The GreenTec Capital Africa Foundation (GCAF) was honoured that our Head of Operations Bienvenue Angui had the pleasure to meet H.E. General Philippe Mangou, Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to Germany and H.E. Azize Diabaté, Ambassador for Economic Affairs and Technical Cooperation to discuss potential synergies between GCAF and Ivoirian start-up support initiatives as well as other topics.
A part of the mission of the GreenTec Capital Africa Foundation is to support the innovative and dynamic ecosystem of African Start-ups and SMEs. To succeed in this it is crucial to have good partners and Bienvenue was very happy to learn about Côte d’Ivoire’s active support for start-ups and SME’s through various government initiatives to drive national growth. Since 2018, the government of Côte D’Ivoire has enacted several programs fostering start-ups. We were pleased to learn that The Minister of Digital Economy, Telecommunications and Innovation, Roger Félix Adom, launched the Startup4Gouv initiative on 6 December 2021 at the Maison des Entreprises (CGECI) in Abidjan. The program’s objective is to develop and support the best start-ups with the aim of making Côte D’Ivoire a digital hub and to make more government programs and initiatives to run digitally.
GCAF is active in Côte D’Ivoire and we are consistently impressed with the innovation and impact driven by Ivorian companies, such as Coliba. We look forward to exploring further synergies and supporting more innovative and impactful founders across Africa.
